Kursty Boydston has been hired by the university as a development officer in its Advancement Office.
A native of Hartman, Ark., Boydston graduated with Cum Laude honors with a B.S. degree in accounting. She served as a student-worker in the Advancement Office throughout her college years.
"I've been working in Advancement Office since the first day of my freshman year," Boydston said. "I've greatly enjoyed interacting with donors and alumni who love this university and who want to help students have the same opportunities they had. I know I had the opportunity to come here because of the scholarships I received, and those scholarships came about because of donors. Now, I look forward to helping our donors have the opportunity to assist current and future students at Ozarks."
Boydston will be assisting in the university's fund-raising efforts, including stewardship of donors. She will also lead efforts to develop a recurring gift program.
"Kursty has a great work ethic and the knowledge she has gained working in the Advancement Office as a student gives her a well-rounded perspective of fund raising," said Reba Pridgin, director of development.
Boydston, whose grandparents attended Ozarks, said she literally grew up on campus.
"I remember playing at the fountain when I was 8 and being part of the youth theatre program on campus while growing up," she said. "This campus has always been close to my heart and to have an opportunity to work here and work with people who love this university as much as I do is a true blessing."
Boydston has a son, Chandlor, who is 1½ years old.
