||Back to Main...|
It is my distinct pleasure to welcome all of you “back to school” for another year. Most of you, especially the students, looked relaxed and rested. We will do our very best to keep you looking that way for at least another week!
I am especially pleased to welcome those of you who are new to our campus. If we have not met formally as yet, please stop by my office and say hello. I am anxious to meet you and to learn more about you. I ask the veteran members of our campus to extend that same sense of hospitality to students and staff who are joining us for the first time. Adjustments and transitions are never easy, and we will do all we can to assist you.
Each person at this University, regardless of a particular title, position, or capacity, is an essential member of the campus community. We are all a part of the rich heritage and tradition of this marvelous institution. We each make a difference in one another’s lives, and we each serve as role models for and influences on others. That difference should be positive and productive. That is an essential obligation and responsibility that members of a caring community owe to one another. I remind myself of that as I also remind you.
Thanks for coming back for another year and, Rookies, thanks for joining us for your first year.
