Several students, including members of the Lady Eagles softball team, recently joined Dr. Kim Van Scoy, professor of environmental studies, as volunteers to work in the University's new community garden on Thursday. Potatoes, onions and peas have already been planted, and cucumbers, okra, squash and tomatoes are soon to follow. Some of the produce from the garden will be donated to local food banks as well as to the Clarksville School District's backpack food program. Some of the produce will be sold to the community to help cover costs of the garden, which is located just south of Hurie Field.
