Prior to his tenure with Habitat for Humanity International, Jones served as pastor of four Presbyterian congregations in Kentucky and Florida, and for 12 years was senior pastor of the Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. In the academic world, he has served as vice president for a theological seminary, as a faculty member at two seminaries, and as a national staff person of the Presbyterian denomination. He has served on many denominational, ecumenical, national, community, college and other boards. He is the author of many articles and two books, including "The Power Behind the Hammer," a collection of prayers written for Habitat's senior leadership team.
Jones is a speaker of national reputation, including a variety of national and international radio and television appearances. He has made presentations to hundreds of groups, some as large as 10,000.
