Students in applied music courses to give winter recital

Clarksville, Ark. --- Students in the Ozarks Applied Voice and Applied Piano courses will present a studio recital on Thursday, November 18 at 7 p.m.

The following students from vocal instructor Kristina Buck's Applied Voice classes will perform during the recital:

  • Carlos Rodriguez, baritone, will perform Blackbirds and Thrushes, Arr. Cecil J. Sharp
  • Quincey Stickley, soprano, will perform Art Thou Troubled by G.F. Handel
  • Caitlin Lambert, mezzo-soprano, will perform Sapphische Ode by Johannes Brahms
  • Nichole Shelton, soprano, will perform Danza, danza, fanciulla by Francesco Durante
  • Malisa Mat Suni, soprano, will perform When I Have Sung My Songs by Ernest Charles
  • Melody Cochran, mezzo-soprano, will perform Mondnacht by Johannes Brahms
  • Miranda Sewell, soprano, will perform Lascia ch’io pianga from Rinaldo by G. F. Handel

The vocalists will be accompanied by Ozarks Instructor of Music, Mary Lou Douglas.

Piano performances will be given by the following students from Ms. Douglas' Applied Piano classes:

  • Carlos Rodriguez will perform Flight of the Bumblee by Rimsky-Korsakoff
  • Naima Lopez will perform the 1st movement of Short Sonata by Ray Green
  • Yoselin Delgado will perform Prelude in C by J.S. Bach
  • Grace Amador will perform the 1st movement of the Sonatina by Frank Lynes
  • Joyce Wong will perform Waltz in C Sharp Minor by Chopin
  • Malisa Mat Sani will play Scherzo by von Weber

The recital will take place in Rowntree Recital Hall, in the university's Walton Fine Arts Building.  It is free and open to the public.
