Clarksville, Ark. --- Seven new members have recently been named to the University of the Ozarks Alumni Association's Board of Directors.
The new board members who began their three-year terms on July 1: Bill Aydelott ’53 of Sallisaw, Okla.; Richard Franks ’65 of Bartlesville, Okla.; David Lasater ’75 of Clarksville; Ann Patterson ’75 of Little Rock; Dr. John Scribner ’98 of Salem, Ark.; Dean Yeager ’59 of Tulsa, Okla.; and The Rev. Rita Wilson ’70 of Checotah, Okla.
Aydelott is a retired high school band director and principal. He continues his life-long work in education as a college professor in Sallisaw. He and his wife Bettye have three grown children.
Franks is retired after a 25-year career with ConocoPhillips. He and his wife, Arvella, have four children and 12 grandchildren.
Lasater has owned and operated David Lasater Shelter Insurance in Clarksville for 25 years. He and his wife Cathy have three children and eight grandchildren. He has served on the Clarksville School Board, is a volunteer fireman and a member of the Johnson County Dive team.
Patterson, who went on to earn a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Arkansas-Little Rock after graduating from Ozarks, has served as the director of the Arkansas Head Start Collaboration Office in Little Rock since 2001.
Scribner, who earned his medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2002, is a family physician in Salem. He and his wife Leslie have two children.
Wilson, who earned a master of divinity degree from Phillips Theological Seminary, has served as a Presbyterian minister in Arkansas and Oklahoma since 1991.
Yeager is a retired high school music and social studies teacher as well as church choir director. He and his wife Pauline enjoy taking care of their grandchildren in Tulsa.
