Release Date: 2/11/2014
University of the Ozarks will showcase its teacher education program to prospective students during its first Future Educators Day, scheduled for Wednesday, March 12.
High school students will have the opportunity to tour campus, visit with education professors, and talk with current and former education students. The event will begin at 9 a.m. with registration and will conclude around 2 p.m. Lunch in the University cafeteria is included in the day's activities.
"We wanted to have an opportunity to invite high school students to campus and let them see how our program can prepare them for a career in education," said Dr. Glenda Ezell, chair of the Division of Education. "We will have a variety of fun and informational activities, including informational sessions, tours and a panel of current and former students."
The event is limited to approximately 100 students, so early pre-registration is recommended. The deadline to register is March 7. Information and a link to the online registration form can be found at http://www.ozarks.edu/FutureEducatorDay. There is no cost to attend the event.
