Dr. Jim Martin is guest speaker at Ozarks

Clarksville, Ark. -- More than 30 faculty and staff members from the University of the Ozarks attended a one-day professional development session sponsored by the Jones Learning Center on Aug. 4 in Walker Hall.

Dr. Jim Martin of the Zarrow Center at the University of Oklahoma presented the session, which focused on “increasing the likelihood of obtaining a degree and transitioning from postsecondary education to employment or further education.”  Martin’s area of interest is self-determination success predictors and how they can be measured. He offered numerous ideas on how to provide opportunities for college students to learn these crucial skills to be successful. The Zarrow Center for Learning Enrichment facilitates successful secondary and postsecondary educational, vocational and personal outcomes for students and adults with disabilities. The session was made possible by a university Dial Grant.
