Rev. James Jacobson

Rev. James Jacobson arrived on campus the week of October 16, 2006 as the fall 2006 recipient of the James R. Struthers Pastoral Study Leave Fellowship.
Rev. Jacobson is the pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Guymon, Oklahoma. A native of Chicago, he graduated from Jamestown College in Jamestown, N.D. in 1977, earned a Master of Divinity Degree from McCormick Theological Seminary, affiliated with the University of Chicago, in 1980, and was ordained as a Presbyterian Minister that same year.
Prior to coming to Guymon in 1993, Rev. Jacobson served churches in Minnesota and Iowa.
Rev. Jacobson is particularly interested in leadership roles of women and the church. He is also very involved in the music in his church, often playing guitar in a musical combo during services.
Rev. Jacobson and his wife, Mary Ann, the director of religious education for St. Peter Catholic Church in Guymon, have two sons, Joseph of Liberal, Kan. and Benjamin of Guymon.
