Ozarks students Nathan Williams, Alissa Ferrari, and Ember Smith visited the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, AL, to visit NASA polymer chemistry research labs and discuss their research project with NASA scientists. The students are working on polymer-repair systems that could be useful for in-flight repair. This photo, taken at NASA's Space and Rocket Center, shows Nathan, Alissa and Ember with a Mercury spacecraft simulator (the Mercury spacecrafts were used in very early manned spacecraft flights, used to put an astronaut in Earth's orbit).
The students also had an opportunity to examine polymer samples that were prepared in the NASA research center. These samples are similar to what the students are working on in their project.
