Distinguished Speaker Series speaker Kevin Igli to discuss sustainability

Clarksville, Ark. --- In conjunction with the University's Earth Week celebrations, the Enactus/PBL Distinguished Speaker Series will feature Kevin J. Igli, Senior Vice President and Chief Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Officer for Tyson Foods, Inc.

In his role as Chief EHS Officer, Mr. Igli oversees Tyson's sustainability initiatives and the company's EHS compliance and risk management processes. He and his team of more than 180 EHS professionals assess, prioritize and manage all aspects of Tyson's EHS stewardship efforts.

His presentation, "Sustainability: Are you ready to make a difference?" will take place on Thursday, April 18 at 12 noon in Baldor Auditorium in the Boreham Business Building. The event is free and open to the public.

Mr. Igli is affiliated with a number of professional and trade organizations, and lead's Tyson's participation in The Sustainability Consortium, an organization that works to build a scientific foundation to drive innovation to improve consumer product sustainability. He is also a member of the External Advisory Council for the Iowa State University Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering and serves on the Academic Advisory Board for the University of Arkansas Biological and Agricultural Engineering Department, as well as the boards of The Nature Conservancy, Beaver Watershed Alliance, and Ozarks Water Watch.

He previously served as the Vice President for Environmental Affairs for Willamette Industries, Inc., a leading forest and paper company based in Portland, Oregon. In addition, he served as Director of Environment, Health and Safety for Packaging Corporation of America and as Vice President of Environment, Health and Safety for Chemical Waste Management, Inc. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in biological sciences from Malone University, in Canton, Ohio.
