Release Date: 11/2/1998

Clarksville, Ark. --- Janet E. Donnangelo of Russellville will be showing her original ceramic forms as the featured artist for November in the Stephens Gallery on the University of the Ozarks campus.

Renowned for her talents in the field of wheel-thrown pottery, Donnangelo is a graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in art education. A resident of Russellville since 1980, she and her husband Ralph own Main Street Gallery.

Donnangelo's style has evolved from "simply functional" to artistically inspired forms. Her flowing root designs on various pottery sculptures have become her signature application, and tend to draw the viewer into a connection with the Earth. Her work has been exhibited in North Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi, Arizona, Florida and a variety of galleries and museums throughout Arkansas.

Donnangelo's exhibit will be on display from Nov. 3 to Dec. 10. There will be a "Reception to Meet the Artist" at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, in the Stephens Gallery, located in the Walton Fine Arts Center on campus. The public is invited to attend the reception. The gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday.
