2013 Business Conference scheduled for Oct. 23
Release Date: 9/20/2013
University of the Ozarks will host students from area high schools for its annual business conference on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
The conference is a comprehensive competitive events program sponsored by the University's Division of Business, Communication, and Government and its two co-curricular student organizations, Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda (FBLA-PBL) and Enactus. Participants may compete in any of 20 different events representing a wide range of activities that represent the business and leadership development focus of FBLA-PBL. The winners of these highly competitive awards are selected from among FBLA's membership and represent some of the best and brightest of today's youth.
Last year, over 150 conference delegates participated in a structured meeting that included business workshops, campus tours, and competitive events testing. This year's conference will offer a special workshop on "Team Building," led by Jamie Lewis Hedges, Ozarks' Director of Outdoor and Environmental Experiences.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc. (FBLA-PBL) is one of the national business education associations that prepare students for careers in business and business education. Its members, belonging to more than 6,000 chartered chapters, include students from the United States, the Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and Europe. Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is the high school division, while Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) is designed for post-secondary and college students.
