Clarksville, Ark. --- Samantha (Mosley) Hoing, a 2011 University of the Ozarks graduate, has been hired as an admission counselor at the university.
Samantha (Mosley) Hoing has been hired as an admission counselor at the university.
Hoing, who completed an MBA from the University of Central Arkansas in May, will work with prospective students in the Little Rock area as well as South Arkansas, Tennessee, and Mississippi.
"I had a wonderful college experience at Ozarks and I'm excited about helping other students have that same type of experience here," said Hoing. "I want students coming out of high school and looking for a college to know how special this campus is."
A native of Subiaco, Ark., Hoing graduated with summa cum laude honors from Ozarks while earning a double major in marketing and business administration. She was also involved in Methodist Campus Ministries and Phi Beta Lambda as a student, and served as a tutor for the Jones Learning Center. She was named JLC Tutor of the Year for the Division of Business, Government and Communication in 2011.
"There are so many great things about this campus," Hoing said. "It's small enough where you get that personal attention from professors and you get to know everybody, yet it's large enough that you get a variety of classes and things to do on campus. It's the perfect balance."
A former home school student herself, Hoing plans to work closely with home school students and associations throughout the region.
"As a home school student, I fell in love with Ozarks the minute I walked on campus," she said. "I loved the small class sizes and the fact that you could go and visit a professor and get that extra help if you needed it. You got that one-on-one attention here, and I think that appeals to students who have been home schooled."
Hoing and her husband, Montana, who will graduate from Ozarks in May, reside in Coal Hill with their three dogs, 14 horses and 75 cattle.
