Clarksville, Ark. --- The University of the Ozarks Chorale and music ensembles will perform in 10 churches in three states from March 11 to April 1 as part of their Spring Tour 2007.
U of O Assistant Professor of Music Dr. G. Mikael Lindström will direct the Ozarks Chorale, Chamber Singers and University Handbell Ringers during their tour of Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas. Jeanine Myers, an adjunct professor of mathematics at Ozarks, is serving as pianist and rehearsal accompanist during the tour. The Spring Tour will begin with a performance at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville on Sunday, March 11. It will conclude with a concert in Munger Chapel on the U of O campus at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, April 1.
Among the selections the groups are expected to perform are As Torrents in Summer, by Elgar; Ave Maria, by Biebl; Prelude to Peace, by Stroope; If Ye Love Me, by Tallis; The Silver Swan, by Gibbons; and When the Saints Go Marching In, by Sherman.
