The President's
Post
On
Friday, October 3rd, Ozarks is scheduled to celebrate the successful
completion of our five-year, $60 million Campaign TO
PRESERVE THE PRIDE, TO KEEP THE PROMISE, the most successful
capital campaign in our history. The occasion will mark the close to
an amazing chapter at Ozarks. When the PRIDE
& PROMISE Campaign began
in October of 1998, the original goal was $55 million. After surpassing
that amount, we decided to increase the goal another $5 million.
During these tough economic times, there were days
I thought the decision to increase our goal was a mistake, that we had
probably exceeded our capability. Today, having also surpassed the new
goal, I realize our self-imposed increase was merely another incentive
for us to work even harder. And we did. So, on October 3, when we celebrate
our success as a campus community within the soul of Ozarks, Munger
Chapel, we will be celebrating our combined faith, our generous donors,
our commitment to students, and ourselves.
Sam Walton developed a list of Ten Rules
That Work, and his Rule #6 was:
CELEBRATE YOUR SUCCESSES.
Lets do just that, and lets celebrate
with pride and promise!
