The President's Post
On December 1-4, a team of four evaluators representing the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools will be visiting the University of the Ozarks. This is a standard procedure and regular aspect of the 10-year reaccreditation process. For more than a year now, we have been conducting an on-campus self study in preparation for that visit. Many of you have already been involved in the self study, and the result of that in-depth examination is a document that profiles an excellent picture of Ozarks’ current strengths and weaknesses.

The North Central Association process of evaluation and accreditation is important for a campus, and we take the review seriously. The North Central team will focus on what we do well and advise us about areas we need to improve. During their time at Ozarks, team members will want to talk with a number of us within formal and informal settings. If you are asked to meet with them, my only request is that you be open, honest, and informative. Your viewpoint is essential.

If you have any questions about North Central and this accreditation, please see Dr. David Strain, our on-campus coordinator for the self study, Dr. Dan Taddie, or me. Thanks, in advance, for helping us with this important process. I know that the North Central team will be impressed with Ozarks and our campus community.

Dr. Rick Niece
President
