I love Alumni Weekend for a number of reasons. I always learn something new from our alumni about the history of Ozarks, hear fascinating stories about former faculty and staff members, and am again reminded about the lifelong influence that Ozarks has had on so many people. When potential students and their parents tour our campus and visit my office, I tell the students that they will make only about five or six life-altering decisions during their lifetimes. Carefully selecting an undergraduate campus to attend is certainly one of those decisions, and my advice is validated by our alumni. Their decision to attend Ozarks was life-altering, and they are proud to return, retell, and remember. When you see alumni who have come back to Ozarks,
please greet them warmly and welcome them sincerely. That means a great
deal to them. In years to come, you will realize the importance of Alumni
Weekend and the joy of coming home. Those of us here now are merely
the current caretakers of this campus. We share our love and reverence
for Ozarks with the several thousand who came before us and who paved
the way for our recent success. We owe them our gratitude and our respect. Dr. Rick Niece |
