Summer Vacation Stories Wanted
Did you have an interesting or unusual
summer vacation experience? If so, let us know in the Public Relations
Office. We are planning to publish an article about Ozarks students
interesting summer vacations in the upcoming edition of the Today

New Names at Ozarks
Rhonda Akins is the new assistant director of Aramark
.
Steve Clayborn joins us as a new groundskeeper.
Mike Qualls is a new electrical technician for the
physical plant.
Melody Johnson is now our financial aid counselor
and joined us in December 2000.
Kathryn Kacy Heinmiller joins us as a
new admissions counselor. She has a bachelors degree from Wittenberg
University.
Matt OConnor joins us as the new head mens
basketball coach. Matt earned his masters degree from the University
of Tennessee.
Jeremey Bernard is the new head womens soccer
coach and mens assistant soccer coach. He is currently working
toward his bachelors degree at Ozarks.
Franqua Bedell is coordinator of campus activities.
He is an Ozarks graduate. Franqua earned his masters degree from
Hardin-Simmons.
Reba Pridgin is now directing Alumni Relations through
the Advancement Office. Reba, an Ozarks alumna, holds a masters
degree from the University of Arkansas.
Bonnie Starkey is the new instructor/liaison for
students with disabilities in Student Support Services. She earned her
masters degree from Arkansas State University and holds a specialists
degree in community college from Arkansas State University.
Jimmy Clark is the new head baseball coach. He has
a bachelors degree from Central Arkansas and a masters from
UALR.
Dody Pelts is working three days per week in the
Learning Center doing psychological testing. Dody earned her masters
degree from the University of Central Arkansas.
Cara Flinn is the director of academic computing
and joined us in Spring 2001. Cara is an Ozarks alumna and earned her
masters degree from the University of Arkansas.
Connie Booty is the administrative assistant to the
Academic Offices. Connie holds a bachelors degree from Arkansas
Tech University.
Angela Wheeler, instructor of business, married this
summer and will now use the name Angela Wheeler Spencer.
Ginny Myers, director of Walton Arts & Ideas
Series, married this summer and will now use the name Ginny Myers Sain.
Andrew Smallwood is Ozarks new instructor of
mathematics. Andrew is an Ozarks graduate and is in the process
of earning his masters degree from the University of Arkansas.
Misty Knight has joined Ozarks as an instructor of
communications. She previously taught in an adjunct position with the
Division of BCG.. Misty holds her B.A. and M.A. from West Texas A&M
University and is completing her Ph.D. from Southern Mississippi.
Craig Martin is a new instructor of business. Craig
holds a B.IE. from Georgia Tech and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business
School.
David Trostel is a new instructor of business. David
earned his B.S. and M.B.A. from the University of Scranton in Pennsylvania.
Community Service
Hours
Looking
for ways to fullfil your community service hours? Cris McCormick, Computer
Lab Coordinator for the Clarksville Housing Authority, is offering a
program called the After School Club for children who are
residents of the Housing Authority. Volunteers are needed to listen
to children read and to help with elementary and junior high homework.
If you would like to help make a difference in a child's
life while earning community service hours, please contact Cris at 705-1203.
Documentary
Film Fans
The Outreach Documentary Film Festival from the Hot
Springs Documentary Film Institute will be held at Arkansas Tech University,
in Russellville, Friday, September 7th and Saturday, September 8th.
There will be a reception and
Q & A session with the filmmakers directly following the films.
An invitation is extended to all those interested.
The 10th annual Documentary Film Festival will be held in Hot Springs
October 12-21. More than 60 films and numerous filmmakers will be present
to discuss their films.

Soccer Season Kicks
Off
The 2001 soccer season begins Saturday, Sept. 1, as
the highly touted Eagles open at home against Bartlesville (Okla.) Wesleyan
College at 4 p.m. at Hurie Field. The Eagles, coming off the best season
in the programs history, are the preseason favorites in the American
Southwest Conference East Division. The Eagles will also play at home
on Tuesday, Sept. 4, against Rhema Bible College at 5 p.m. The Lady
Eagles, under new head coach Jeremey Bernard, open their season on Sept.
13 at Mississippi College. Come out and support the soccer programs!
Parking Restrictions
Starting this week, all campus parking rules will
be strictly enforced. Parking in handicapped, visitor, or designated
No Parking zones will now result in a parking ticket.

Founders Bookstore is carrying a wide range of new
products this year. This new inventory includes items such as magazines,
pre-played video games, The New York Times Top Ten best sellers
in paper back, and many new Christian CDs and books. Also, new items
are arriving daily. There is free delivery on campus. Don't forget to
