Lessons and Carols
The University of the Ozarks will be repeating its
performance of Lessons and Carols during Chapel Service on Tuesday,
Dec. 5, at 11:00 a.m.
The traditional holiday event will feature scripture
readings and congregational carols. The yearís event will also include
a special performance of Antonio Vivaldi's (1675-1741) ďGloriaĒ by the
University of the Ozarks Chorus under the direction of Dr. David De

wonderful sounds of Christmas!
The Campus Activities Board (CAB) will be sponsoring
a Christmas break ski trip. The group will be leaving on January 6th
and returning on January 13th.
The cost is $400 and includes five nights and four
days with a place to stay, lift tickets, ski rentals, and travel expenses.
A deposit will be required by December 15th. The group rate requires
at least 20 people.
A meeting will be held on Monday, Dec. 4, in the
Seay Student Center at 4:30 p.m. Anyone interested should attend to
discuss details and to receive answers to any questions.

Soccer Players Honored
The Ozarks menís soccer team placed four players on
the American Southwest Conference All-East Division team.
Ricky Herrera, a freshman forward from Las Cruces,
New Mexico; Armando Vergara, a junior forward from Modesto, California;
Marcos Gonzales, a junior forward from Georgetown, Texas; and Jeff Jackson,
a senior defender from Wagoner, Oklahoma, were all named to the ASC
East Division Team. In addition, Herrera was named the ASC East Division
Freshman of the Year. The Eagles' second-year head coach Dave De Hart
was named the division's Co-Coach of the Year.
The Eaglesí final record of 15-7 is the best in the
programís history. Congratulations, Eagles!
Successful Texas Road Swing
The menís and womenís basketball teams are back from
a successful road swing through Texas last weekend. Both teams swept
a pair of ASC games over Schreiner College and Texas Lutheran to start
the season 2-0 in league play. The Eagles (6-0) and Lady Eagles(5-1)
return home this weekend with conference games against Sul Ross State
on Thursday and Howard Payne on Saturday afternoon.
Faculty Enrichment Award
The Alumni Association will sponsor the Faculty Enrichment
Award with a stipend of approximately $1,000.
To apply, submit a letter/proposal that states the
reason you seek the award, indicating very specifically how you plan
to use the stipend and how it will enrich you as a faculty member of
Ozarks. Please limit your proposal to two pages and include letters
of recommendation from a student and division chair. The selection committee
will review applications based on merit, but will also focus on how
the proposal relates to the stated mission of the university.
Please turn in your letter/proposal to the Alumni
Office no later than January 31, 2001.
Around the University
The annual Study Night Breakfast will be Tuesday,
Dec. 12 at 10 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Donít miss the chance to let the
faculty and staff serve you!
At 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7, Ozarks Vocal Persuasion
and University Ringers will present the Winter Gallery Gig in the Walton
Fine Arts Center gallery. And, yes, there is Convo Credit.
Also on Thursday, Dec. 7, WA-Press will be holding
a Study Break Party in the Seay Student Center at 7 p.m. Convo Credit
