Athletics Sponsor Cookout
The University of theOzarks Athletic Booster Club
will sponsor a cookout and open house to show off the university's new
outdoor athletic facilities at Hurie Field at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September
28th. The tour includes the university's new fastpitch softball complex,
the remodeled bleachers at Hurie Soccer Field, and the new scoreboards
for softball and soccer events.
The event is also a membership drive for the U of
O Booster Club. Individual memberships are $50. All members are entitled
to attend Ozarks athletic events, admission to the hospitality room
during halftime of the men's basketball games, and use of campus recreational
facilities. For more information or to RSVP, contact the U of O Athletics

Benefit for Carly Hudson
There will be a spaghetti dinner for Carly Hudson on Thursday,
October 5, 2000, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the Clarksville
Jr. High Cafeteria (before the Jr. High Football Game). Carly Hudson
is the 9 month old daughter of Coach Jake, a U of O alumni and Angie
Hudson who has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy.
The price for adults is $4.00 each and $2.00 each
for children. Tickets are available at Clarksville Light & Water, Bank
of the Ozarks on Main Street, and Century 21-Glover Town & Country.
All proceeds will go toward Carly's Medical expenses.
The event is sponsored by XI Delta Alpha Sorority and Pizza Hut of Clarksville.
Annual Vespers
The University Chorus will be holding its annual
Vespers on Thursday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m in the Chapel.
Vespers will reflect poems and thoughts in song.
It is a time for students to take a breather from classes and reflect
on what is really important in life.
Some of the songs that will be performed are "All
My Trials" and "God Be in My In Head And Understand." For more information

Yearbooks are Ready!
The 1999-2000 year books are available. Students can receive their yearbooks
in the
Student Life Office!
Falstaff Strikes Again!
They're back! The first Falstaff meeting of the year
will be held on Monday, Sept. 25th at 7:00 p.m in Gilbert's Park. There
will be an open reading and everyone is invited.
Come out and enjoy the fun! But, bring a blanket
or chair to sit on, because there may not be enough seating for everyone!

Ozark Stars
Need some coffee? Visit OCHOS and take a quick
study break! OCHOS will be presenting Ozark Stars on September 26th,
at 8:00 p.m., in the bottom of the Seay Student Center.
Enjoy coffee, treats, and crayons while Ozark students
perform their musical talents. Don't miss the chance to socialize and
relax! A special thanks to CAB who sponsors all of these events.
Study Abroad
Do you like to travel? Ever thought of studying in
a far off place? If you are a sophomore there is a chance to study abroad
at Lancaster University in England for your junior year.
Anyone interested should attend the information session
on Tuesday, Oct. 3rd at 8:00 p.m. in Walton Fine Arts Center , Room
222. Also, interested students should contact Dr. Heil before the meeting
by e-mail or at ext. 1338.
Making Adjustments
The U of O cafeteria is making some changes. Just
recently, the cafeteria has started to remodel a storage closet in the
front entrance way. Plans are to take half of the closet and add shelves.
Since students are required to leave all books and bags outside of the
cafeteria, this will provide additional space and shelves for students.
Music Fest
Get ready to relax and listen! SGA is providing the
U of O student body with three different types of music to enjoy.
Nickle and Dime will be performing Christian music
on Friday, September 29 in MacLean Formal Lounge at 8:00 p.m. On Sunday,
October 1st Monte Montgomery will be bringing country sounds to U of
O on the Campus Mall at 8:00 p.m. The last concert will be held on Saturday,
October 14th in the Seay Student Center, at 9:00 p.m. It will feature
alternative, rock music by Tim Reynolds, "Dave Mathews Band."
