Lou joined the JLC staff in October, 1999. She says she likes the challenge of working with each student on an individual basis. "I have the opportunity to work with the whole person, not just the academic student. Sometimes a student may need advice about how to handle a personal or social issue, sometimes a student will need help in time management so he or she can complete all required work and still have time for fun. I really enjoy the personal interaction with each of my students."
Lou says she continues to learn from each and every student in the JLC. "From my students, I have learned patience and perseverance," she says. "I have learned that motivation is an important factor in one's chances for success, both in the academic realm and in the working world."
Lou finds inspiration in nature. "There is nothing more refreshing and rejuvenating than spending time in solitude in the great outdoors to reflect on my blessings and to consider God's fantastic world," she says. In her spare time, Lou enjoys reading, traveling and working in her garden. Most of all, she says, she enjoys doing things with her family.
