Louis grew up in Southern California and lived in Virginia before coming to Ozarks, where he earned a B.A. in English in 2000. After considering a career in writing, he looked for a more remunerative field of work. Sparked by his friendship with several learning center students while he was a student at Ozarks, he applied for a position in the Jones Learning Center and was hired in the fall of 2005.
Louis works directly with the Learning Center Director and Assistant Director, assisting with administrative tasks and answering questions from prospective learning center students and their families.
He enjoys getting to know the students enrolled in the learning center, and occasionally helps them with their coursework and proctors examinations. "I just enjoy finding out what's going on in their minds and helping to bring it out," says Louis. He is studying for his master's degree in counseling from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Louis resides in Clarksville with his partner, Ozarks theatre professor Bruce Brown. He enjoys cultivating orchids in his greenhouse -- "I have a couple thousand!" -- and also enjoys travel, especially to overseas destinations. He has visited Egypt, and hopes someday to go to New Zealand and Australia.
