Julia Frost has been director of Jones Learning Center since 1994. Her previous position as a school psychologist in the Arkansas public school system provided her with the experience of working with students who have learning disabilities and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). Drawing on her experience with her older two children who dealt with learning disabilities, she found the challenge of figuring out how her students' minds worked fascinating.

Her move from school psychologist to diagnostic specialist at the learning center in 1986 felt like a natural progression. She works with students, and their parents, to discover and work on a student's strengths and weaknesses. She strives to instill in all learning center students respect for others no matter what their differences, a love of learning that wil last a lifetime and a sense of gratitude that will lead them to give to others and begin their adult lives as mature, self-confident college graduates.

Julia compares the Ozarks campus to a big family. "It's a great place to work, because I know all of the staff and most of the students on campus." She cites the example of Dr. Rick Niece, president of the university, as being a major influence on everyome at Ozarks. "Dr. Niece knows and respects everyone here, and his attitude is shared throughout campus," Julia says.

Julia's time away from Ozarks is spent enjoying activities with her husband and youngest son, including watching movies, attending musical performances, plays or events on the Ozarks campus, playing board games and travel. Her love of music extends to singing and playing the organ, piano and handbells.
