Authority of Campus Security
Security personnel have the jurisdiction to detain any person or persons suspected of criminal activity until police arrive.
Campus security is provided for the welfare of the University Community and to protect University property. The Dean of Students in the Student Life Office is responsible for security on campus. The Residence Hall Directors, Resident Assistants, and security guards are on call seven days a week.
It is the policy of this University to uphold all local, state, and federal laws pertaining to alcohol and drug use. Student misconduct is addressed under Standards of Conduct. The University of the Ozarks works closely with local police, who may call the Dean of Students whenever a student is involved in a crime that occurs off campus. They provide copies of statements and/or reports for University of the Ozarks files.
