Talavera living her dream with Caterpillar Inc.
Less than two years after graduating from University of the Ozarks, Dorisel Talavera finds herself in her dream job with one of the top companies in the world.
Talavera is a marketing and communications consultant for Caterpillar Inc. Latin-America. As part of the company's Building Construction Products Division, she travels extensively throughout Central and South America.
"Years ago, I never imaged myself working in a company like Caterpillar," she said. "But I have learned to love every single thing of it, from carrying my Caterpillar boots to the fields and operating the machines, to getting immersed in those unique Caterpillar conversations. I feel truly connected with this company and very motivated to see what the future might bring to my professional career."

Outdoor Leadership, Safety and Rescue Camp
June 16-22
Ozarks Outdoors and Ozark Safety and Rescue Educators are teaming up to offer a week-long camp for high school age students.
This camp will take place along the Buffalo National Scenic River. The theme will be Leadership, Safety & Rescue. Successful participants will gain Wilderness First Aid Certification and Level-3 Swift Water Rescue Training.
Women's Soccer Clinic
June 14-15
The Ozarks Women's soccer program will hold a soccer clinic for High School girls on June 14-15 at the Ozarks' campus.
The clinic is open to advanced female soccer players who are graduating in the classes of 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016, and will include high level training sessions, fun, and an overview of expectations as a collegiate level athlete.
The cost is $75 and includes a dorm room, all meals and a tee-shirt. The event is NCAA compliant.
New Student Outdoor Orientations: Backpacking
June 23-29
During the week of June 23-29, Ozarks Outdoors will hold an Outdoor Orientation for new incoming students who are interested in the outdoors.
Designed for the outdoor savvy, the backpacking orientation trip will travel along 30 to 40 miles of the Ozark Highlands Trail. Students hone their outdoor skills as they prepare for their transition to Ozarks.
New Student Outdoor Orientations: Beginner Camp
July 14-20
During the week of July 14-20, Ozarks Outdoors will hold a beginner camp for new Ozarks students who are interested in the outdoors.
This camp will be based at Sam's Throne, near Mount Judea, Ark., where students can experience great camping and rock climbing conveniently located near the Ozark Highlands Trail and Buffalo River. This experience will help students learn basic outdoor living skills and explore different outdoor recreational activities.
New Student Pre-registration
Weekdays, from May 20 through August 9
It's finally here! Time to pre-register for class, and get started on earning your degree!
Set up an appointment for any weekday, starting on May 20 and continuing through August 9 (excluding University holidays).
Because you'll be working one-on-one with a faculty advisor, pre-registration is by appointment only. You'll need to call the Office of Admission at 1-800-264-8636 to setup your pre-registration appointment.
