Under the watchful eye of U of O Head Athletic Trainer Chad Floyd, high school students practice wrapping ankles during the University's 2014 Student-Athletic Trainer Workshop, taking place July 21-22 on campus. The intensive two-day workshop helps prepare high school students who assist their athletic programs or who are interested in pursuing a career in athletic training.
Among the topics covered are heat illness, proper nutrition and hydration, evaluating and managing concussions, caring for fractures and wounds, and training field set-ups. Nine students from throughout the region are taking part in the 2014 workshop, which is the largest group ever for the 12-year event.
